Andean Geology invites submissions for a forthcoming special issue on geoethics, aimed at fostering critical reflection on the ethical dimensions of the geosciences in Chile and Latin America.

We are pleased to inform you that the first special issue of the Journal of Geoethics and Social Geosciences (JGSG) has also been printed in hard copy, thanks to the support of the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV).

We highlight some articles written by Ilan Kelman and published in Ethics of Open Science - A blog series by University College London (UCL).

This student-run series will explore themes under the banner of geoethics.

Silvia Peppoloni (INGV Researcher, IAPG President) will deliver the Introductive Keynote Speech, titled "Geoethics and Forensic Geology: exploring shared principles and responsibilities", at the international conference of the IUGS-Initiative on Forensic Geology (IFG).

The aim of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) is to establish a coordinated approach, where appropriate, to promote initiatives and events that address the ethical, social, and cultural implications of geosciences, and to uphold high ethical standards in geoscience research and practice, in order to better serve both the geoscience community and society at large.

This year, the IAPG, the IUGS Commission on Geoethics, and the CIPSH Chair on Geoethics co-sponsor the session EOS4.3 (36 presentations).

These three books were published in 2023, 2024, and 2025. One of them can be downloaded for free.
