Silvia Peppoloni will deliver an invited talk (in Italian) titled "La geoetica come fondamento per affrontare le responsabilità etiche dei geologi in un mondo in trasformazione" (Geoethics as a foundation for addressing the ethical responsibilities of geologists in a transforming world) in Genoa, Italy, on 25 November 2025.
This event, titled "Il Ruolo del Geologo tra Etica, Competenze e Welfare Professionale: dal Sapere alla Tutela" (The Role of the Geologist between Ethics, Skills, and Professional Welfare: from Knowledge to Protection), is organized by the Ordine dei Geologi della Liguria (Professional Order of Geologists of Liguria), with the patronage of the Consiglio Nazionale dei Geologi (National Council of Geologists), the Camera di Commercio di Genova (Chamber of Commerce of Genoa), and Ente di Previdenza e Assistenza Pluricategoriale (Multi-category Welfare and Social Security Agency).
Silvia Peppoloni is a Geologist and Researcher at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Rome, Italy). She is the President of the International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG), Chair of the Commission on Geoethics of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), and Chairholder of the Chair on Geoethics of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH).
