IAPG goals

 

The achievement of the IAPG objectives will lead to:

​

• An increase in the research base and the strengthening of geoethics from a scientific perspective;

• The identification of methods for its more effective application;

• Reflection on the role geoscientists can play in society, including the identification of appropriate forms, positions, means, and actions to be adopted;

• Growth in geoscientists’ awareness of their responsibilities, both as scientists and as members of the human community;

• Greater community involvement in the concept of a common and shared "geo-heritage," to be regarded as a cultural, educational, and scientific value, as well as an economic resource;

• A cultural renewal in how we perceive and relate to our Planet;

• Increased sensitivity toward the defense of life and the Earth's richness.
