First Colloquium on Geoethics in Peru
A meeting in Lima on 12th October 2015
The Peruvian Geological Society – SGP (Sociedad Geologica del Perù) and the IAPG-Peru organize the “First Colloquium on Geoethics in Peru”. The scheduled date is 12th October, and the Colloquium will take place in the SGA social center (28 de Julio Av. 745, Miraflores, Lima).
Among the objectives of the event, the creation of a Specialized Section on "Geoethics and Geological Culture" within the SGA, as done in Italy by the IAPG within the Italian Geological Society (SGI - Società Geologica Italiana), and the signature of a cooperation agreement between the IAPG and the SGP.
This event aims to promote discussion on ethics in the work of geologists, explaining specific cases, procedures that can be applied, values of reference.
The topics will be addressed are:

Risk prevention and land management.

Conflicts between mining industries and local communities.

Protection and enhancement of the geoheritage.

Role of women in geosciences.
